BEST call for proposals

Europe House Aruba is excited to announce the BEST 2.0 calls for proposals for small for swift small grants (<50.000 euros) and small grants (<50.000 - <100.000 euros).

Best 2.0 Programme which is part of the EU Biodiversity for Life (B4Life) flagship, providing grant funding for small-scale and medium-scale field actions on the ground for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the EU OCT's.
 The overall objective of BEST 2.0 is to promote the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of ecosystem services, including ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation and mitigation, as a basis for sustainable development in OCTs. The specific objective is to enable, empower and strengthen local authorities and civil society organisations which are committed to local development, biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of ecosystem services in OCTs.
 
BEST 2.0 is designed to provide substantive and effective support for actions at the local, as well the regional level; regional cooperation being key in the regions where the OCTs are located. BEST 2.0 will as well catalyze the efforts and will constitute a key contribution to the achievement of the global objectives and goals in terms of biodiversity, sustainable development and climate change.
The overall indicative amount made available for this 2016 call for Small Grant proposals is one million eight hundred thousand euros (EUR 1 800 000) which is allocated in small grants and the target beneficiaries for small grants are primarily:
• local non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
• local civil society organisations (CSOs)
• local community-based organisations (CBOs)
• local non-profit organisations
• local for-profit and socio-professional organisations that meet the criteria of a micro-enterprise
• local sub-governmental bodies i.e. municipalities, cities of a territory, communal services.
