Opportunities for Aruba
In Aruba the Department of Public Health (DVG) is responsible for the general administration of public health, including the implementation and monitoring of the enforcement policy of the health care system. The priority is offering safe health care of good quality for everyone. During the COIVD-19 pandemic the DVG continued monitoring the quality and safety of the care provided by proactively maintaining contact with various partners and healthcare providers to assess whether quality is ensured. In order to guarantee this quality and safety the Department carries out certain baseline measurements to identify possible risks and bottlenecks. Once these are identified it can develop a strategic supervisory process to tackle the problem in a systematic manner. In order to implement this strategic plan, the EU4Health programme may function in response to the COVID-19 crisis to create a resilient healthcare system.
